The dust has settled on most of the servers, and the Fury of the Sunwell has been a success across the board. One of the lingering issues however is attunement. It has been noted before that Onyxia is now the hardest attunement in the game. This has occurred with the removal of the Karazhan, Black Temple, and Mount Hyjal attunements. However this creates a false impression that these instances are no longer worthy of attunements, and thus these quests are no longer worthy of the care and time that's necessary to push forward into them.

You want to get your Vashj and Kael vials, you want to complete your Mount Hyjal attunement, and you want to complete your Black Temple attunement. If you're in a guild that isn't running those instances anymore and is focusing squarely on the Tier 6 content, then you still want to go back and get the attunements.

Today I share with you one of my deepest secrets. There isn't a week that goes by that I don't lay awake at night, seething about the unfairness of raiding drops. Oh, sure, there's always that elusive piece that has a 0.0002% drop rate that every healer wants. Those are pie in the sky dreams of healing uberness. No, that's not what I mean.

Another bug has recently been singled out when World of Warcraft forum poster Blackhndmail cited that the buffs being granted by Sayge at the Darkmoon Faire seem to prematurely log your character out from the realm.

The temporary buff, which usually lasts two hours, tends to disappear regardless of how much time you have left or which set of buffs you got from Sayge's Fortune. The original poster wanted to give everyone a convenient heads up on the problem and also got a customer support ticket reply from Blizzard saying that they will look into the problem.

Sunwell Plateau first gate open on US Servers
The first gate is now open on US Servers, players can fight Grand Warlock Alythess and Lady Sacrolash. According to the first reports, gates on european servers are still locked.

MSNBC asked Ken Levine, creator of last year's underwater masterpiece, Bioshock, to list his five favorite games of all-time, and right there on the list, between Civ IV and Heroes of Might and Magic 2, is our favorite MMORPG. Yup, the World of Warcraft makes it into the top five of all-time, according to the guy that created the city that Andrew Ryan created.

If you're an Ace mod fanatic like I am, you may use Parrot for your scrolling combat text needs. If you've used Parrot since 2.4, you've noticed, like I have, that the dang thing just plain doesn't work. Even though the ever handy WoWAceUpdater continues to update it, there's some block of data it's missing. And that means that when I get into combat and look for my scrolling information... nothing happens. There's no pretty numbers to the side of my characters. Hey, that's fair enough. 2.4 was the patch of the great combat log change, and it's understandable that not every addon is quite caught up.

That said, I like how I have Parrot set up, and I didn't really want to try to find and install a new mod, or heaven forbid, use Blizzard's base system. So, I went searching, hoping to find some way to bring back my beloved Parrot.

M'uru loot: Trinkets confirmation?

On january 16, we posted a sunwell loot picture which turned out to be true when the first sunwell items dropped on PTR, however alot of items are not on that picture.

It's 12:00 midnight. Do you know where your World of Warcraft Armory update is? Seriously, a player by the name of Starshooter wanted to know if or when the Armory ever updated itself.

For the Blizzard forum member, it seems as if the armory has yet to reflect the gear the Starshooter's character equipped two days ago. The general consensus on Blizzard's forums is that the WoW Armory does update itself.

So you've had time to traipse around Sunwell Isle, you've read the new lore (both the official stuff and Alex's Know Your Lore: The Sunwell), watched the trailer, and all that good stuff, but you're still a bit confused. What does it all mean?

Back in the day when Hannibal crossed the Alps, he used armored north African elephants (now extinct) to frighten and trample his opponents. However, the elephants were easily frightened, and often trampled their own forces when shot with enough arrows.

The two European-history-loving paramedics sitting in the room with me right now can't think of any Hannibal-related puns for this screenshot, so I'll just note that it takes a lot for an elekk to not flee from a huge dinosaur -- especially when there's a draenei shaman fighting on its back. Grilox of Kilrogg, who sent us this picture, wrote that he was questing in Blade's Edge with his roommate Arigato when Arigato bugged on Grilox's screen and started to fight on an elephant. Arigato's own screen, however, did not replicate the bug.

Many of you may already be familiar with the wondrous little gadgets coming from the secret factory of Gazmik Fizzwidget. For those of you who are not, I would recommend you visit the Fizzwidget showroom and browse the wares. I'll profile them in the coming months, starting with a handy one for newly crowned level 70's.

Fizzwidget's FactionFriend will automatically change the default Blizzard reputation bar based on your current zone or the faction you've most recently gained reputation with. You can also right click the reputation bar to select another faction, open an options pane or open the Reputation window.

It's Tuesday, and you know what that means - Maintenance. Luckily, it's a a relatively pain free maintenance day today, as there's nothing but rolling restarts on the menu starting at 5am PDT. Each realm is expected to be down for no more than 15 minutes.

Hunters in any MMORPG have to greatly take into account the Damage Per Second (DPS) mechanics in order to maximize their characters.

For Blizzard's World of Warcraft, someone took the time and carefully analyzed the Hunter's DPS mechanics. Lactose from the Talnivarr realm posted what he was able to come up with over at the European forums.

Have you ever experienced trouble creating new characters in Blizzard's World of Warcraft? If so, you're not alone. Player Overheal had experienced the same problems, and had requested for help on the WoW forums.

In a nutshell, Overheal had trouble adding more than one character to the lineup instead of the usual three. With the creation of the second character, Overheal received the message, "you have already created the maximum amount of characters on this account."

Rogue and Paladin changes in WotLK
Dagger rogues and retribution paladins will get some love, however there won't be any class changes before the release of Wrath of the Lich King.

We understand that daggers need a bit of improvement and plan to improve them. Currently though there are other options for doing damage for the Rogue so it is not like all options are blocked, but like I said, we are aware of this issue. (Source)

Kanthela has presented a bug report over at the World of Warcraft forums involving the Boar hunter pet. It seems its Charge ability has become useless.

The Boar's Charge immobilizes the enemy for a second and adds Melee Attack Power to the next attack. However, after patch 2.4, Charge does not generate any threat with Growl.

Attention, World of Warcraft TCG enthusiasts: the next Blizzard and Upper Deck Entertainment WOW TCG Darkmoon Faire will pull over at Columbus, U.S. from April 11 to 13, so if you live thereabouts you may want to adjust your schedule around the event to participate. This time around, participants will get to compete for sweet prizes, as enumerated below:

• Computer: You specify PC or Mac and laptop or desktop, and Upper Deck will build you the most insane computer we can
• Home Theater: We ll hook you up with a brand new flat-screen TV, surround sound stereo, and DVD player (your choice of either Blu-Ray or HD DVD).
• Travel: Upper Deck will pay for your travel (flight and hotel accommodations) to any Darkmoon Faire event in the world.

But that's not all. The Top 64 card wielders will be able to snag their own Extended Art copy of the Shadowfiend card, and those stuck around to participate in the Darkmoon Faire championship will receive a crisp, mint Solanian's Belongings card.

Before you dismiss this video that mixes the elements of both Valve's Portal (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) and Blizzard's World of Warcraft as another "Still Alive" stunt, stick around - this is the farthest thing from the cheerfully-ironic song, and instead melds both games into a rather peculiar and admittedly-disturbing combination. From the GLaDOS-installed Mechanostrider to the pirate-hat wearing, portal gun-wielding character, this is one video you shouldn't miss.

Looking at the video, it's certain that Baron Soosdon definitely knows his stuff. The animation is slick, the cut-aways in time with the music, the surreal color scheme just right and in place with the dark and twisted humor of GLaDOS. We also like the Aperture Science pirate hats featured in this particular movie - maybe we'll be seeing a real counterpart soon? Here's hoping so.

The Legion's to march at the last week of April, and Blizzard and Upper Deck Entertainment are heralding the Legionnaires' impending arrival on select hobby stores around the continent. There are five of these World of Warcraft Trading Card Game staffers to grace locations all over North America, and Alex Charsky's visit will signal the first of the initial eight scheduled from April all the way to June. Details of all nine visits follow:

• April 25-27: Paul Ross visits Northern California
• April 18-20: Alex Charsky visits Wisconsin
• April 21-27: Mike Girard visits Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania
• May 2-4: Jeff Piroozshad visits Canada, Michigan
• May 2-4: Antonino De Rosa visits Florida

And while these chosen five are trekking the States and the neighbor up north, they'll be blogging about all their adventures during and in-between visits. They also plan to do their trip weblogs (twogs? - tee hee!) with some photo coverage of their exploits. While you're catching up on where they are, you could also keep tabs on where they're headed.
