Arena Shoutcasting Contest Ends

The first-ever World of Warcraft Arena Shoutcasting Contest has officially ended -- we'd like to thank everyone who participated! We're now in the process of judging the entries to select the best and most exciting Arena commentary. The winner will receive a Dell UltraSharp 3007WFP-HC monitor and a code for the BlizzCon 2008 polar bear mount, and three runners-up will each receive a BlizzCon T-shirt along with the BlizzCon 2008 mount. We have removed this achievement and the title it rewarded because it was often being earned through methods that were not what we wanted to encourage. We currently have an idea to bring it back soon, and hope that players with the current titles will get to keep them but we can make no guarantees at this time.

Arena points will be reset with the start of Arena Season 6. We encourage everyone to purchase arena items prior to the start of season 6. Please note, any items purchased with arena points before the start of the season will not be refunded in any way once the new season starts.

The 2-hour refund timer for such items will be reset at the same time as the arena points. Also, game masters will not refund arena points for these items under any circumstances.

This is to avoid items being used to bring Arena points from Season 5 over into season 6 by purchasing them before Season 6 starts and refunding for arena points afterwards.

Migrations from the highest populated realms will likely open on Wednesday following the maintenance. We will want to see the peak population for all realms over this weekend first though, to make sure we offer it to the realms in most need first.
